Quality Management System

ICMP’s Quality Management System reflects its commitment to continuous self-monitoring, improvement, and integration in the rapid development of forensic DNA science.

The ICMP DNA Laboratory is accredited as a test laboratory to EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by the Dutch Accreditation Council (Raad voor Accreditatie – RvA) under registration number
L 641.

For details on the ICMP DNA Laboratory’s accreditation scope, please visit the Dutch Accreditation Council’s website using the following link International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) – Raad voor Accreditatie (rva.nl)

ICMP’s Quality Management System involves:

  1. A comprehensive training and competency assessment program for staff, that is audited under ICMP’s accreditation; and
  2. The recognition and integration of ICMP forensic science in the larger field of forensic sciences.

ICMP’s recognition and Integration in the Field of Forensic Sciences

ICMP scientists regularly participate in international forensic conferences, where ICMP scientific methods and results are presented, including the regular provision of reports at the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI)DNA Working Group meetings.  A list of ICMP’s scientific presentations and publications may be found here.

ICMP’s Quality Management System benefits greatly from regular meetings of an external Steering Committee on Forensic Science Programs, a group of internationally recognized experts who are briefed in detail about ICMP’s forensic facilities and practices, and who are an invaluable source of external consultation and technical advice.
