A wife describes how her husband was arbitrarily arrested in their home on 25 August 2011 in the Damascus suburb of Daraya. After he went missing, she left with her children for Lebanon, where the family now live. “In his absence,” she says. “I cry all the time”. She tries to remain connected to the Families for Freedom movement, and regularly seeks information from international organizations. She says: “Our daily life is challenging as we try to survive the harsh conditions. I am not able to provide everything my children need.” She prays every day for her husband’s return and for her children to feel happy again. “Sorrow has reigned in our home for a long time now. I hope that all the missing will come back to their loved ones who have been aching and longing for their return.”
