Thao Griffiths

Thao Griffiths joined Meta in December 2021 as Public Policy Head for Vietnam. Before that, at the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) she played a key role connecting the Government of Vietnam with the private sector and with key international partners such as the US Government.

Ms Griffiths has worked across many fields, with a particular focus on US-Vietnam relations, including reconciliation and healing after the war. She served for nine years as Country Director for the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation in her 16-year tenure with the organization both in its Hanoi and Washington offices.

In 2021, Ms Griffiths was featured as one of “99 Outstanding Women in Vietnam” in the book We Are Vietnam by the celebrated photographer Nguyễn Á. Her section in the book highlights Thao’s journey from a childhood in the terraced hillsides of Ha Giang valley to personal and professional adventures and advancements in Hanoi, Washington D.C., Melbourne, Geneva and beyond. Ms Griffiths has been interviewed by the BBC, CNN, the New York Times, Al Jazeera, and frequently on VTV and in Vietnamese media.

Ms Griffiths Thao has a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the American University.

Thao Griffith has been an ICMP Commissioner since December 2022.
