Bert Koenders is a Dutch politician. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from October 2014 to October 2017. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1997 to 2007 and served as Minister for Development Cooperation from 2007 until 2010. He was the Undersecetary General of the United Nations and served as the Secretary-General’s Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Operation in the Ivory Coast (2011–2013), and Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (2013–2014). Mr Koenders has also served as President of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly and was Founder of the Parliamentary Network on the WorldBank/IMF. He has been a Visiting Professor at Johns Hopkins University SAIS. He has been an ICMP Commissioner since February 2019.
